Sirloin skewers with Brazilian vinaigrette
Churrasco-style beef skewers with vinagrete, the fresh tomato and onion salsa that comes with every Brazilian barbecue.
- Time
- 30 min
- Makes
- 2 small servings
Ingredients
- 1 small top sirloin steak, trimmed and cubed
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 ripe tomato, finely diced
- 1/2 onion, finely diced
- 1/4 green bell pepper, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
How to make it
- If you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes so they don't burn.
- Season the beef with the garlic and coarse salt and thread it onto the skewers.
- Grill over hot coals or in a very hot grill pan for 6 to 8 minutes, turning, until browned outside.
- Mix the tomato, onion, pepper, parsley, vinegar and olive oil with a pinch of salt.
- Serve the skewers with the vinaigrette on the side.
Tip: At a churrasco, a skewer or two with vinaigrette already makes a plate. Eat slowly and check how you feel before going back for more.
